How Do We Grow?

Food Safety in our fields and processing plants continues to be an integral part of Taylor Farms.

We continue to improve our quality assurance program through research and education.

The primary focus of Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) is to reduce the risk of contamination during the growing cycle. Taylor Farms GAP standards are based on FDA and USDA guidelines.

Our farming crews are trained in all aspects of the GAP strict standards and we ensure proper sanitation.

Taylor Farms is recognized as an industry leader for our food safety programs and our management of good agriculture practices by the USDA. We strictly follow the California Leafy Greens agreement and we continue to bring new information concerning food safety.

Prior to planting, our farms are assessed for food safety risks and are monitored throughout the growing season.

We monitor all our fields and make routine, unannounced inspections of our farmers, harvesting equipment to ensure compliance of our food safety program.

All our farmers are required to complete extensive food safety training prior to growing product for Taylor Farms.

Taylor Farms requires microbiological analysis testing of the irrigation water. We strictly follow the California Leafy Greens agreement.

Taylor Farms lab test salad greens in the field and throughout the processing of the salad greens.

All pesticides used must be compliance with federal, state and local regulations and are subject to periodic testing.

Taylor Farms employs state of the art harvesting equipment designed specifically for effective sanitation and reduction of potential cross contamination.

All our farmers and their crew are audited on a frequent basis by Taylor Farms. For tracking purposes, all raw products are coded with the field, lot, harvesting crew, date and time of harvest. We also have rigid third party audits performed throughout the year.

Because we employ rigid and strict standards we are recognized by Sillker, Primus and USDA.
