Fresh iceberg lettuce, romaine, red cabbage, carrots, parmesan & cheddar croutons, and our renowned creamy homestyle ranch dressing combine to deliver the classic and comforting flavors you know and love. Oh, but that doesn’t mean you can’t dress it up even more with two other well-acquainted ranch salad ingredients: crispy bacon and savory hard-boiled eggs. And you can have this protein-packed and utterly satisfying salad ready to enjoy in about 20 minutes. Well, unless you made the bacon and hard-boiled eggs ahead of time. That’s a pro move.

Hard-Boiled Eggs 101 (and 201)

If you’re a little intimidated about making hard-boiled eggs, don’t be. Hard boiling eggs is simple, but achieving perfectly cooked yolks every time can feel like an art! For a classic stovetop method, place eggs in a pot and cover with cold water by about an inch. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then remove from heat, cover, and let the eggs sit for 10-12 minutes (10 for softer yolks, 12 for firmer ones). Transfer them to an ice bath for a few minutes to stop cooking and make peeling a breeze.

Want an even easier approach? Try steaming them. Place eggs in a steamer basket over a small amount of boiling water. Cover and steam for 12-14 minutes. This method ensures consistent results and peels that slip off like a dream.

If you’re more of the set-it-and-forget-it type, use an air fryer. Place eggs in the basket and cook at 270°F for about 15-17 minutes. No boiling water or timing worries—just perfectly cooked eggs, ready to go.

Now, wasn’t that easy?
