Ingredients
- 1 Taylor Farms Broccoli Caesar Roast Kit
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 4 oz prosciutto, sliced
Directions
Prepare Prosciutto
- Preheat your oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange the prosciutto in slices on the baking sheet. Bake for 10–12 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning. Once crispy, remove from the oven, let cool, and crumble into pieces.
Bring on the Broccoli
- Prepare another baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the broccoli florets with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and ¾ pouch of Caesar dressing from the kit. Ensure the broccoli is evenly coated.
- Spread the coated broccoli in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Roast in the oven for 15–20 minutes until lightly toasted and tender.
- After roasting, sprinkle the broccoli with Parmesan shreds and breadcrumbs from the kit. Return to the oven for an additional 2–4 minutes until the cheese is melted and breadcrumbs are golden.
Toss it all together
- Remove the broccoli from the oven and drizzle the remaining Caesar dressing over the top. Gently toss to combine.
- Sprinkle the crispy prosciutto crumbles on top of the Caesar broccoli. Serve warm as a side dish or alongside your favorite entrée.
Prosciutto Italiano: Perfetto, no matter how you serve it
Fun fact: “prosciutto” just means “ham” in Italian. We can remember that! That said, the meat is an Italian cured ham with a unique drying and preparation process, known for being cut in thin slices and having a smooth but salty flavor. If you want to add the flavors of Rome to more than just your Caesar salad renditions, here are some of our favorite ways to enjoy this delicacy:
Melon (Prosciutto e Melone): This classic Italian appetizer involves wrapping prosciutto around slices of juicy cantaloupe for a pairing of salty and sweet that almost melts in your mouth. This would also make a sweet counterpart to the Broccoli Caesar Salad as part of your full meal.
Charcuterie platter: Serve prosciutto slices with your favorite cheeses on a large platter alongside breads or crackers, dried fruits, nuts, and veggie slices. Feel free to include salami for some more cured meat options.
Fancy grilled cheese: Switch up the American cheddar classic and add prosciutto slices to a buffalo mozzarella grilled cheese sandwich. (Make this Broccoli Caesar Salad too, to get your greens!)
A quick, keto-friendly snack: Wrap prosciutto slices around logs of string cheese. Fast (but fancy) and easy-to-eat protein on the go!
Prosciutto Pizza: Small slices of prosciutto will cook deliciously on homemade pizza. If you really want to spice it up, put some pepperoncini next to the prosciutto. Is it us, or do all Italian foods and flavors just go well together?
