Don’t Dilly Dally on the Dill!

After thyme, rosemary, and basil, don’t you think dill is a little overlooked? Turns out, it’s everywhere! Dill pairs exceptionally well with a variety of foods and flavors. You probably recognize it on deviled eggs, in soups, with cucumbers, potatoes, yogurts and sour creams, salmon and other seafood. It’s especially popular with Eastern European Cuisines (like Russian, Polish, Ukrainian—think, a sprig of dill atop a dollop of sour cream on a hot bowl of borscht). It’s also common on Scandinavian open-faced shrimp sandwiches and in delicious pickled herring. Dill also finds its way over to Greek cuisine (we love it with a gyro), Eastern Mediterranean, and Iranian dishes. Dill-igently covering all the bases, you might say.
