Ingredients
- 1 Taylor Farms Ultimate Caesar Salad Kit
- 1 ½ lbs boneless chicken breast tenders
- 2 eggs
- 1 ½ panko bread crumbs
- 1 ½ tsp kosher salt
- ½ tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Pinch of cayenne pepper
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- ½ cup honey
- ¼ cup hot sauce
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper, place an oven-safe rack on the paper, spray with oil or non-stick spray, and set aside.
- Cut chicken breasts into long, tender size pieces.
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs and set aside.
- In a separate shallow bowl, combine panko bread crumbs, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and olive oil. Mix together until crumbs are coated evenly with olive oil.
- Dip chicken tender pieces one by one into eggs, and then dredge in crumb mixture, pressing the crumbs into each piece. Transfer dredged chicken pieces onto the rack, ensuring there are 2 inches between each chicken piece. Sprinkle any remaining crumb mixture onto the chicken pieces.
- Bake chicken for 15 minutes. Flip chicken pieces and continue to bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until chicken is crispy and cooked through.
- Whisk together honey and hot sauce and brush on the chicken for the last 10 minutes of cooking.
- In a large bowl, prepare Taylor Farms Ultimate Caesar Salad kit and top with hot honey chicken tenders.
Let’s Hear it for the Bees!
Most of us know how great honey tastes, but this amazing natural substance often fails to get its full due. So, let’s start with our friends who are actually responsible for making it: bees! Honey bee workers spend their life tending to various chores that go into making honey, and they certainly live up to the name.
Did you know that 55,000 miles of flying time and two million flower visits from bees go into making just one pound of honey? Seems like a lot of work, right? Well, honey bees don’t sleep, so that’s why they have time to work so much—well, that and the fact that they eat their own product for energy, which definitely tracks.
You should also remember that the honey bee is the only insect that produces food for humans, so we all owe them a hearty “thank you.”
Sweet Talk
Aside from being delicious, honey is full of a variety of vitamins and essential minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids. In fact, honey is the only natural edible product that consists of all the substances necessary to sustain life, such as vitamins, enzymes, minerals, and water. And, as we know from bees, it can function as an exceptional energy source.
Honey can also be used topically as a natural antimicrobial agent on minor burns or scrapes. And if that’s not enough, it has been shown to speed the healing of wounds.
Worried about your honey expiring? Don’t fret: If you keep it in an airtight container, it won’t expire—something evidenced by the honey found in King Tut’s tomb, which was still perfectly edible after all those years.
Here’s to honey!
