Steak and Bacon Caesar Salad

Want to know the best way to elevate almost any salad? Add some slices of juicy, succulent steak on top! While chicken is a popular protein addition to Caesar salads and Cobb salads, we think it’s time steak got its due. A generous portion of sliced flank steak is the perfect topping to our savory Bacon Caesar Chopped Salad Kit, which features a hearty mix of crisp romaine, nutty Parmesan cheese, crunchy cheese garlic crouton crumbles, and plenty of smoky bacon on top. And don’t forget our tangy and creamy Caesar dressing. Hey, look at that: your salad is now a satisfying main course!

Why Not Add More Bacon?

If you really want to keep riffing on the whole steak and bacon theme and take things to the ultimate level, going with a bacon-wrapped steak is an easy call! We mean that literally — it’s actually quite easy to do.

You will need the following Ingredients:

  • 4 steaks (filet mignon is the easiest for bacon wrapping, but you can also use such as ribeye or sirloin), about 1 inch thick
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder, onion powder, or your favorite steak seasoning

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat
  2. Season the steaks with salt, pepper, and any additional seasonings you prefer. Let them sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. While the steaks are resting, wrap each steak with 2 slices of bacon, securing the ends with toothpicks if needed. Soak the toothpicks in water beforehand to ensure they don’t burn.
  4. If using a grill: Place the bacon-wrapped steaks on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until the desired level of doneness is reached, rotating the steaks halfway through cooking for cross-hatch grill marks.
If using an oven: Place the bacon-wrapped steaks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a wire rack. Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the desired level of doneness is reached, flipping the steaks halfway through cooking for even browning.
  5. Once the steaks are cooked to your liking, remove them from the grill or oven and let them rest for a few minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
  6. Slice and serve atop the salad, and enjoy!
